The Thur Valley
The Thur Valley evokes all the slopes of Alsace. From Cernay, visitors plunge into the grandiose scenery of the "Route des Crêtes", sharing the friendliness of the farm inns. At Thann, Southern Gateway of the Wines Route, they taste the great vintages and discover the gothic splendour of the Saint-Thiébaut coolegiate church. Higher up, at Saint-Amarin, they witness the fantastic nature of the Ballons des Vosges, its wild flora and fauna.
By bicycle along the banks of the Thur, from lakes to waterfalls, the scenery is totally beautyful. From Springtime on, combs and Ballons invite you to walk along the GR5 and other marked trails, to go mountain biking or microlight flying. In the winter, skiers love the pistes at Markstein, Frenz, Thanner Hubel and the Grand Ballon, while cross-country skiers cross the whole massif.
